Observe adap

Overview:

Join us for an exclusive webinar hosted by Imagine Optic, in collaboration with Ciel et Espace and the CNRS LMA Lyon. Our team has been diligently working on a pivotal project for the European Space Agency ESA’s Euclid mission—designing an advanced optical bench, codenamed OBSERVE. This innovative test bench is crucial for characterizing the dichroic beam-splitter of the Euclid telescope, which aims to map dark matter throughout the universe with unprecedented precision.

What You Will Learn:

+ Probing the universe: introduction to Euclid, the telescope to unravel the enigma of dark matter and dark energy
+ Close look to OBSERVE: learn about the unique testbed for spectrally-resolved wavefront characterization of Euclid dichroics
+ Live Visit & Measurements: Experience a real-time tour of our cleanroom testing facilities at the Laboratoire des Matériaux Avancés in Lyon, where ultra-precise measurements will be conducted using the OBSERVE bench.

Speakers:

Jean-Luc Dauvergne is a section editor for Ciel et Espace magazine, published by the Association Française d’Astronomie. He specializes in observation techniques.

Benoit Sassolas is a research engineer at the LMA-IP2I platform, a CNRS research unit. He has contributed to the developments of the large mirrors for the 2nd generation gravitational waves detectors (Advanced LIGO, Advanced Virgo, KAGRA), the Fabry-Perot etalon for the DKIS telescope or the fabrication of large dichroic plates for PFS and 4MOST instruments installed on the Subaru and Vista telescopes respectively. He is co-chair of the Core Optics work-package for the Einstein Telescope project, the European project of a third generation gravitational-waves detector.

Guillaume Dovillaire is CTO at Imagine Optic. He’s an expert in wavefront sensing metrology and adaptive optics and contributed to the development of many testbeds for space missions such as Euclid, Herschel, Gaia, Corot, Teleo, NAOMI-C, and is an amateur astronomer by night.

Omar KOBAYTER is the DIgital Marketing Manager at Imagine Optic ( webinar organiser and host )

Interactive Segments:

The webinar will include a Q&A session, allowing attendees to ask questions directly to our panel of experts. Additionally, enjoy a guided tour of the laboratory to see the OBSERVE bench in action.
