Monomorph mirrors for high-power lasers

cilasIn high-power laser applications with beam diameters between 40 and 150 mm, Imagine Optic, in collaboration with our partner CILAS, offer today’s most advanced monomorph deformable mirrors to provide the best wavefront correction available. When compared to bimorph mirrors, monomorphs provide superior optical quality and wavefront shaping capacities (stroke).

These mirrors, combined with our HASO™ wavefront sensors and CASAO™ software can correct for significant aberrations and bring the Strehl ratio above 90% in order to acheive peak intensity in the far-field.

The "print-through" effect

The "print-through" effect appêars on the mirror's optical surface and is due to the tight spacing between the optical plate's surface and the mirror's actuators. This effect can, during propagation, cause dangerous hotspots inside the laser amplification chain. Monomorph architecture virtually eliminates this effect by positioning the actuators directly against the back side of the optical plate.
